Environmental, Social and Governance

We are excited to invite our members, candidates and the local finance community on an ESG journey. Whether you are early in the learning process or already have several years of experience, this series of presentations and panel discussions will offer you valuable insights.

ESG has become a catch-all phrase for investment strategies that consider environmental, social and governance factors. There are many distinct approaches, with different investment objectives. The series kicks off with a 101 session, which provides an overview of the long history of ESG investing and the many different types of definitions and approaches.

ESG investing practices are wide ranging and the debate continues on the question of whether ESG improves risk-adjusted returns. In subsequent sessions, we bring together academics and practitioners from Australia and around the world to share their perspectives on effective ESG approaches.

This series follows the launch of the CFA Institute’s global certificate in ESG Investing earlier this year. We hope these discussions will enhance your knowledge about this rapidly evolving investment topic.

We look forward to meeting you at these events.
