2023 International Women’s Day
The CFA Society Australia International Women’s Day event is one of the most visible events celebrating women in finance and investment.
In March 2023, CFA Society Australia was proud to host a live presentation with keynote speaker, Leigh Sales, one of Australia’s most loved and respected journalist and guest speaker Margaret Franklin, CFA, President and CEO of CFA Institute.
Leigh Sales shared her life lessons learned at the frontline of 30 years in journalism. Leigh Sales talked about what she’s learned regarding human nature, life and leadership in her thirty years at the frontline of journalism. From ordinary people in extraordinary situations to the world famous celebrities Leigh has met, her reflections on resilience, self-doubt and transformation.
The presentation was held in person in Melbourne and Sydney, and broadcast live to Perth and Brisbane from Sydney.

Leigh Sales, AM
View Leigh's bio > Leigh Sales AM is one of Australia’s most recognised and respected journalists. For almost twelve years, she anchored the ABC’s flagship evening current affairs program, 7.30, as well as being the face of major news coverage for the network, including federal elections and budget nights. She has been a foreign correspondent based in Washington DC, covered various rounds including national security and politics, and worked for TV, radio, print and digital. She is now the presenter of the ABC’s beloved Australian Story program.
