Martin Stulpner, CFA

Currently Head of Commercial and Acting General Manager Iron Ore, Martin is responsible for Aquila Resources’ 50% stake in ~$6bn West Pilbara Iron Ore Project and a Director of Australian Premium Iron Management, the West Pilbara Joint Venture manager. Martin has been with Aquila since 2012.

Prior to Aquila, Martin was with Macquarie Securities in Perth where as Senior Resources Analyst, he covered emerging and established producers in the iron ore, nickel, copper, uranium, platinum group metals and mineral sands industries.

Qualified as an Applied Mathematician, Martin started his career in Johannesburg at DeBeers Industrial Diamond Division. He spent four years in the strategy consulting firm Monitor Company before moving to Anglo American in Johannesburg where he spent eight years, most recently as Vice President and Head of Strategic Planning in the Ferrous Metals Division.

Martin completed the CFA® Programme in 2005 and has been a CFA® Charterholder since then. He is also a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors (2014)

Two teenage sons take up most of Martin’s spare time and he also enjoys reading including history, geography, pulp fiction; sports including walking, cycling, tennis, surfing; investing in emerging  resources companies; and playing chess.
