Student Membership

To become a Student Member of the CFA Society Perth, an individual must be a current full-time student of an accredited institution.

Step 1: Complete Associate Membership Application form

Step 2: Complete the Self-Test for the Standards of Practice Handbook If you have not yet passed Level 1 of the CFA exam, one of the requirements for Local Society membership is that you take and pass the Self-Test for the Standards of Practice Handbook. Click here to take the test.

If you do not already have a CFA Institute ID number, you may enter any number you choose in this login screen. After downloading and reading the Handbook PDF, click the “Voluntary Self-Test” link to take the public version of the Ethics Exam. You may take the exam multiple times. Upon completion of the self-test the website shows your passing results. Please print this screen (or save it as a jpg or pdf) and include it with your membership application.

Step 3: Two Reference Forms to be completed

Please submit a completed and signed Reference Form with your application. A professional reference maybe provided by a University Professor or Supervisor, Co-Worker or other business relationship in the investment profession (eg from an internship)

Step 4: Submit documentation as per the Application Checklist

The following paperwork is required to be submitted:

  • Student Membership Application Form
  • Copy of Resume
  • Copy of University Statement of Academic record
  • Reference Form
  • Printed proof of passing either Level I or the “Self-Test for the Standards of Practice Handbook”

The Society will review your application and contact you within 1-2 weeks. Once approved, you will be required to pay annual membership dues of AUD25.
