CFA Society New Zealand relies on the help of volunteers.  Getting involved is a great way to network, make friends and develop new skills.  A volunteer role can lead to further progression in the Society.

Volunteers should be a member of CFA Society New Zealand, or a CFA candidate.

We have a number of committees/groups people can volunteer for.  These are:

Event committee

Would you like to have input into events run by CFA Society New Zealand? 
Purpose: Provide insights into the diverse requirements of our membership by assessing potential events, and suggesting topics/speakers for future events.  Occasionally assist at events, for example, welcoming guests.
Chair: Jeff Stangl (Society Chair)
Size/Structure: Up to seven members, including one candidate and at least one member from the Wellington focus group
Meetings:
by video conference approximately every two months, the society Executive Officer will also attend
Applications: online, members will be chosen by the committee chair with input from others in the committee , membership will be reviewed yearly following the AGM

Candidate committee

Are you interested in helping CFA candidates?
Purpose: Assist with planning, organising and delivering candidate activities including social events, career events and university events.
Chair: Eric Wei (Society Director)
Size/Structure: Up to seven members; mostly candidates but can include members, including one person from Wellington and Christchurch.  Includes a University Liaison Officer appointed by Chelsea Leadbetter (Society Director) to assist her with the University Outreach portfolio.
Meetings:
by video conference approximately every two months, the society Executive Officer will also attend
Applications: online, members will be chosen by the committee chair with input from others in the committee , membership will be reviewed yearly following the AGM

Wellington focus group

Are you interested in supporting and developing the CFA community in Wellington?
Purpose: Provide insights into the requirements of the Wellington membership by assessing and suggesting potential activities, and providing some hand’s on assistance in the implementation (due to paid society staff being based in Auckland).
Chair: Shared between Chelsea Leadbetter (Society Director) and Jeff Stangl (Society Chair)
Size/Structure: Up to seven members based in Wellington, include at least one candidate
Meetings:
In person or by video conference, approximately every two months
Applications: online, members will be chosen by the committee chair with input from others in the committee , membership will be reviewed yearly following the AGM
