Resilience is the ability to withstand, adapt to, and recover from adversity and stress. However, it is possible to increase resilience to not only bounce back, but to bounce forward. You can’t control the current environment, but you can develop tools and techniques to increase your resilience and the ways you respond to concerns, issues and threats, which is particularly relevant to those analysing, trading and managing assets in volatile investment markets. Building resilience goes beyond a coping strategy to provide practical ways to flourish and thrive with change and uncertainty.

This presentation covers the following:
• What is resilience?
• The personal and professional advantages of building resilience
• How the brain works (and can be hijacked) and
• A range of positive evidence-based ways to boost and build resilience

Learning Objectives:
• Understand how emotions influence thinking, behaviour and decision making
• Develop techniques to identify and manage threats
• Learn practical strategies, tips and tools for building resilience applications

The benefits of resilience include the ability to:
• Manage stress and anxiety effectively and avoid burnout
• Actively manage change and setbacks
• Stay flexible and mentally tough
• Act authentically and in accordance with their strength and values
• Develop grit (the passion and perseverance to pursue long-term goals)
• Stay inspired and find meaning in unprecedented times
