CFA Societies Australia appoints its first National CEO
27 August 2018: CFA Societies Australia, representing its members and CFA charterholders across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, today announced the appointment of Lisa Carroll as its first National Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this capacity, Lisa will focus on delivering greater member value and supporting the ongoing growth and recognition of the CFA designation across Australia.
“This appointment marks an important next step in the evolution of our local societies,” said Ganesh Suntharam, President of CFA Society Sydney. “Our societies primarily operate as volunteer run, not-for-profit organisations. This appointment allows us to expand our engagement with members and with the industry more broadly, and to build on our mission of promoting the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence across the financial services industry”.
Lisa joins CFA Societies Australia from Good Shepherd Microfinance where she was the Chief Operating Officer responsible for improving the delivery of financial inclusion products and affordable financial programs to people on low incomes. As part of this role, she managed the finance, legal, IT, learning and development, quality assurance and core program delivery teams within her organisation, and led the strategic planning process. In her previous roles, she also gained extensive experience in digital communications, content, publishing, IT and marketing.
With her extensive experience delivering core services for both not-for-profit and member-based organisations, Lisa is the ideal person to take up this newly created management role for CFA Societies Australia. Lisa will start her new role on 24 September 2018 and will be supported in Sydney by Michaela Francis, Executive Director for the CFA Society Sydney, and in Melbourne by Graeme Miller who has recently started as Executive Director for the CFA Society Melbourne.
